1. Matthew 8:19-22=Then a teacher of the uprightness came to him and said, Teacher, I will follow you w presentver you go. savior replied, Foxes keep up holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head. Another disciple said to him, Lord, counterbalance let me go and bury my develop. But deliverer told him, hap me, and let the dead bury their own dead.
In these verses, Jesus is on the side of the lake which will have the huge attack where Jesus will ask his disciples why they have such little faith. He is with his disciples and is ordering them to pose the lake. They be more than willing to follow wherever he goes, further one wants to bury his dead father. The disciples dead father couldve been in reality dead or just symbolizing that his father was vivacious and dead in spirit and faith. Jesus tells the disciple to let the dead bury their own dead. Whats pricey is the fact that a disciple has to leave his dead father in order to follow Jesus. The disciples obey Jesus and send away on to crossing the lake.

Luke 14:25-27= Large crews were traveling with Jesus, and spell to them he said, If anyone comes to me and does not abhor his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters-yes evening his own life-he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his own cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
Jesus, in these verses, is speaking to a crowd that has been following him. He says that to be a disciple of his, you dislike to, in a sense, despise everything that you have in your life. I think what he really means is that you have to hate what you have because you should be filled with humbleness and selflessness towards Jesus and feel like you deserve nothing. The big cost here is giving up all of our treasures and people that we love and cathexis for the most to be a disciple of Jesus, and to a push-down stack of people it will almost be impossible.
