What Is A Hero

There have been globey so called hit manes in our life time, but what in reality makes up a hero. A hero in my belief is someone who stands up for what they suppose in so strongly they would do anything for it. Also I mean someone is a hero if they go beyond what is necessary of them to do to further servicing or hold dear someones life. An example of this would be a man going into a burning building and saving(a) someone who was trapped inside. There are many different views on what makes up a hero but I am going to describe in this paper what I believe best makes up a hero. I will as well try and describe what I think is an anti hero because there are a multitude of celebrities and actors who get called heroes and in most cases they arent

In order to better help describe what a hero really is I am going to use trick McCains, Joseph Campbells, and Barbara Tuchmans views on heroism. John McCain writes in his book Why Courage Matters he describes a hero as having elements of fearlessness like fortitude, discipline, daring, or rightness. He also gives a good example of hero a Roy Benavides who I would also say is a hero too. He talks rough two types of courage physical and moral courage.



McCain goes on too say people with deathly unsoundness are not heroes for going through their experiences and this is where I resist with him. People who go through these experiences are doing something a lot of people could not do and being great models of courage for others.

Next I will be talking about Joseph Campbells view on what a hero is. He says there is two types of heroic form of addresss, a physical deed and a spiritual deed. A physical deed is a courageous act in battle or saving a life. A spiritual deed is the hero experiences the paranormal range of human spiritual life and then comes ski binding with a message. I agree with his views on heroism so far but I dont really agree with what he says next.
