Why was theory of 4 Humours so fundamental?
Greek thinkers believed that the body contained four distinguished liquids, which they called humours. They were:
Phlegm
Blood
Yellow bile
Black bile
If these humours stayed in balance then a person would remain healthy, to a greater extentover if the humours became unbalanced (too much or less) this could make person ill.
