The norm that I broke involved intruded in other individuals person-to-person distance. I went to the depository library more or less 9 am on a Tuesday morning, choosing this time because the library wouldnt be crowded nor would it be completely empty. On the first floor of the library, there are approximately carrel tables. When I walked in some of those tables were being occupied only when there were empty ones available. Instead of going to the empty one, I sat down next to a girl that was works on another table. As I sat down, I felt very uncomfortable simple because I knew there were open spots available. I saw her occasionally looking up from her work staring for a second or so. It took x minutes for her to get her things and leave, and Im almost confirming she went to sit down somewhere else.
It starts from non-material culture because it is a impalpable idea about our culture. In our society personal space is very important to us, compared to other societies. Here, for example there is a certain distance that you want to be from a person that youre talking too, however in places such as India mountain talk much closer together. Personal quad also varies by situation.



If I had done this experiment during finals time, it wouldnt be uncommon for two or three people sharing a table because the library then is endlessly packed. There isnt much room for personal space so people sit on floors, desks, chairs to study.
We go finished societal norms every day without even realizing it. We know the hold thing is to give people as much personal space available.
