Course description This course examines the role of nutrition within the context of average human development from pre-conception to adolescence. Emphasis is placed on nutritional concerns and recommended dietary practices during pregnancy, lactation, and previous(predicate) childhood. The management of common childhood and teenager dietary concerns is also discussed. HNU 366 is intended to increase the students understanding of nutritionary requirements and recommendations from pre-conception to adolescence The physiological, socio-cultural and economic determinants of maternal and child health with particular relevancy to nutritional status and wellbeing Factors influencing healthy ingest patterns from unfairness through adolescence Appropriate strategies to improve the nutritional status of individuals and groups at various life stages nutritional management of selected conditions in women and children.
